Program detail

-Pilpintuhuasi and the Boras:

About 20 minutes from Iquitos is Padre Cocha, where the rescue center "Pilpintuwasi" (the butterfly farm) is located. It provides shelter for the many animals affected by trafficking and illegal hunting that takes place in the region. We will also visit the community of the Boras Ethnic Group. Here, visitors can learn about the customs of this community while participating in the dances performed by the members.

Itinerary

-Transfer to the river pier or Nanay port to start the excursions.

-We will navigate the Nanay and Momón rivers, tributaries of the Amazon River. Along the way we will appreciate a panorama of picturesque riverside towns and dense vegetation as our boat continues its journey.

-Arrival at the Pilpintuwasi Zoo-Farmery, where we will observe with the help of an experienced guide, the magical place of butterflies whose impressive display of the specimens that inhabit the place will surprise you.

-Then we will move to the native community "Boras", who will teach us about their way of life, their customs and crafts. They will also perform a dance presentation, which explain their beliefs and affection for nature.

-Return to the port of Nanay, and then we will transfer you to your hotel, where our Service ends.

-Approximate duration of the tour: 3:30 hours
