-DAY 1
From Iquitos to the Heart of the Amazon!
Your adventure begins in Iquitos.
As soon as you arrive at the airport, our team will be there to welcome you.
We’ll begin with a short drive through the streets of Iquitos before heading to the Bellavista Nanay pier.
From there, we’ll board our private boat and begin our journey into the heart of the Amazon.
Cruise Along the Majestic Amazon River!
We’ll travel approximately 50 kilometers by private boat, taking around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Little by little, the city will disappear behind us, and the incredible Amazon rainforest will surround us.
Your adventure has officially begun!
Welcome to Savia Lodge!
When we arrive at the lodge, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink made with fresh regional fruits.
Then, we’ll show you to your room so you can settle in, relax, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the rainforest.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before we begin our first rainforest adventure.
Step Into the Rainforest and Discover Its Secrets!
Get ready to walk among towering trees, incredible sounds, and breathtaking scenery that looks straight out of a movie.
We’ll visit the impressive Ceiba tree, a giant of the Amazon that is more than 200 years old.
During our walk, you’ll discover different medicinal plants and learn about plants traditionally used by Amazonian communities.
And now, for a very special search...
Keep your eyes open and your camera ready as we search for the:
Lion Tamarin Monkey
One of the smallest primates in the world.
It’s tiny, quick, and can easily hide among the vegetation.
Finding one will be a moment to remember!

Dinner
After our rainforest walk, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner.
When Night Falls, the Rainforest Comes Alive!
When the sun goes down, a whole new adventure begins.
We’ll head out on an exciting night excursion to search for some of the rainforest creatures that come out after dark.
We may spot:
Tarantulas
Night monkeys
Tree boas
And other rainforest species
And if the weather is clear...
Look Up at the Sky!
Far away from the lights of the city, you’ll have the chance to admire the stars and the endless Amazonian sky.
Amazonian Stories & Legends
Back at the lodge, our guide will share fascinating Amazonian stories and legends—tales filled with mystery, tradition, and characters that are part of the rainforest’s cultural heritage.
A special night to listen, imagine, and let the magic of the Amazon take over.

DAY 2
A New Day Full of Life and Adventure!
Discover the Birds of the Amazon
We’ll start the day birdwatching, looking for different tropical birds that call the rainforest home.
Listen to their songs, admire their colors, and discover the incredible variety of life hidden among the trees.
Keep your camera ready!
Are You Ready to Fish for Piranhas?
Now it’s time for one of the most fun activities of the trip!
We’ll head out onto the Amazon waters to try our luck at fishing for:
Piranhas
Catfish
Pacu
Sardines
And other species
Would you dare to catch a piranha in the Amazon?
A fun experience to share, enjoy, and remember.

Breakfast
After our fishing adventure, we’ll return to the lodge for breakfast.
Meet the Monkeys!
We’ll visit Monkey Island, where you’ll have the opportunity to see different species of monkeys in a natural setting.
Get ready to see them up close, learn more about them, and enjoy their playful personalities.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before we continue our Amazon adventure.
Let’s Go Find the Three-Toed Sloth!
We’ll board the boat again and explore the Yanayacu River, known for its dark waters.
We’ll cruise peacefully through the rainforest, keeping our eyes on the trees as we search for the famous:
Three-Toed Sloth
We’ll look for it resting among the branches, along with other wildlife we may encounter along the way.
In the Amazon, you never know what you’ll find around the next bend!
The Moment Everyone Waits For!
We’ll continue cruising along the Amazon River in search of the famous:
Pink & Gray River Dolphins
Watching these beautiful dolphins appear between the waters of the Amazon is one of those experiences that can make a trip truly unforgettable.
And if conditions are right...
You Can Swim in the Amazon River!
Yes—you’ll be able to say:
“I SWAM IN THE AMAZON!”
A Sunset Straight Out of a Movie!
Before the day comes to an end, we’ll stop to admire the sunset over the Amazon River.

We’ll start the day cruising along the Amazon River, watching as the sun slowly rises above the rainforest.
A peaceful, beautiful sunrise unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Take a deep breath.
Look at the river.
Listen to the rainforest.
And enjoy the moment...
Because you’re in the Amazon.

Breakfast
We’ll return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing our adventure.
Discover the Culture of the Yagua People
We’ll visit a Yagua community to experience part of their traditional culture, customs, and way of life.
You’ll learn about:
Their language
Traditional clothing
Traditional dances
Their way of life
Traditional hunting methods
You’ll also have the opportunity to discover and try the traditional:
Pucuna, or Blowgun
A traditional hunting tool used by the Yagua people.
You’ll also have the chance to admire beautiful handcrafted souvenirs made with local materials.
An opportunity to discover, experience, and appreciate an important part of Amazonian culture.
Get Ready for an Unforgettable Experience!
Our next stop will be an animal rescue and conservation center.
Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see different Amazonian species up close and enjoy some truly unique encounters.

One of the largest freshwater fish in the world.
You’ll be able to see these incredible fish up close and even take part in feeding them.

Essential Recommendations for Your Amazon Jungle Trip – Savia Tours, Iquitos

What to Bring:

​

Bring a small backpack and lightweight clothing suitable for the warm and humid jungle climate, such as long pants, shorts, T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, sandals, sneakers or comfortable shoes, a cap or hat, personal toiletries, swimwear, and a towel.

If you take any medications, please remember to bring them with you. A yellow fever vaccination is not required for this trip.

Additional items, such as rain ponchos, rubber boots, and flashlights, can be purchased in Iquitos if needed.

Optional Donations

​

If you wish, you may bring donations for the children of the rural community of San Rafael, along the Amazon River. Donations are completely optional and not mandatory. Items such as books, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, colored pencils, rulers, and other school supplies are greatly appreciated.
