​DAY 1
IQUITOS → AMAZON RIVER → SAVIA LODGE
YOUR ADVENTURE STARTS HERE!
We’ll welcome you at Iquitos Airport and take you on a short drive through the city to Bellavista Nanay.
Here, you’ll board our private boat and begin your journey toward the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
We’ll cruise approximately 50 km along the Amazon River, enjoying the beautiful scenery as we gradually leave the city behind.
After around 1 hour and 30 minutes on the river, we’ll arrive at Savia Lodge.
WELCOME TO SAVIA!
Upon arrival, we’ll welcome you with a refreshing drink made from local fruits and show you to your room, where you can settle in and begin enjoying the peace and beauty of the rainforest.
LUNCH
After lunch, get ready for your first encounter with the Amazon.
RAINFOREST WALK
We’ll venture into the rainforest to discover its giant trees and uncover some of its hidden secrets.
During our walk, we’ll visit the impressive ceiba tree, which is more than 200 years old. We’ll learn about plants traditionally used by local communities and look for wildlife in its natural surroundings.
Walk, listen, observe, and enjoy. The rainforest is full of life.
DINNER
And when night falls…
THE RAINFOREST COMES ALIVE
We’ll set out on an exciting nighttime adventure in search of animals that become active after sunset.
We may spot tarantulas, night monkeys, tree boas, and other fascinating species.
And if the sky is clear…
WE’LL ENJOY THE STARS ABOVE THE AMAZON RAINFOREST!
Back at the lodge, our guide will share Amazonian stories and legends passed down through generations.
A special way to discover the stories and traditions of the rainforest.

DAY 2
SUNRISE, MONKEYS, SLOTHS & RIVER DOLPHINS
WAKE UP TO THE AMAZON
We’ll start early to enjoy one of the most beautiful moments of the journey:
SUNRISE OVER THE AMAZON RIVER
Watching the sun rise between the trees as we cruise along the river is an experience you’ll find hard to forget.
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, our adventure continues.
LET’S MEET THE MONKEYS!
We’ll visit Monkey Island, where we’ll discover different species of Amazonian monkeys.
We’ll see them up close, learn more about them, and, following the center’s guidelines, enjoy a special encounter with these curious animals.
Get your camera ready! You’ll probably want to take more than one picture.
LUNCH
After lunch, another adventure awaits.
EXPLORING THE YANAYACU RIVER
We’ll board the boat again to explore the peaceful Yanayacu River, surrounded by beautiful rainforest scenery.
During the journey, we’ll keep our eyes open for the famous three-toed sloth and other animals living freely in the jungle.
Every outing is different… and the rainforest always has a surprise waiting for you.
LET’S SEARCH FOR RIVER DOLPHINS!
In the afternoon, we’ll cruise along the Amazon River in search of the famous gray and pink river dolphins.
We’ll watch the water carefully, waiting for that special moment when they appear near the boat.
And if river and weather conditions are suitable:
YOU MAY EVEN HAVE THE CHANCE TO SWIM IN THE AMAZON RIVER!
Feeling the waters of the Amazon while surrounded by the vast rainforest is an experience you’ll remember forever.
SUNSET OVER THE AMAZON
If the weather is favorable, we’ll end the afternoon with another spectacular natural sight:
The sun slowly disappearing behind the trees as we cruise along the Amazon River.
The perfect moment to breathe deeply, relax, and simply enjoy.
DINNER
After a day full of adventure, we’ll return to the lodge to relax.

DAY 3
BIRDS, AMAZONIAN CULTURE & PIRANHA FISHING
WAKE UP TO THE SOUNDS OF THE RAINFOREST
Early in the morning, we’ll head out to observe different species of tropical birds found in the Amazon.
As the rainforest begins to wake up, we’ll enjoy its beautiful sounds and discover the incredible variety of birds that live in this region.
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey.
DISCOVER LIFE IN THE AMAZON
We’ll visit an Amazonian village to learn about its traditions, customs, and way of life.
You’ll discover how local families live, learn about their daily activities, and hear stories about life in the rainforest.
We’ll also have the opportunity to learn about and try some traditional Amazonian drinks made with local ingredients.
EXPERIENCE YAGUA CULTURE
Next, we’ll visit a Yagua community.
Here, we’ll discover their culture, traditional clothing, dances, customs, and way of life.
We’ll also learn about the traditional pucuna, or blowgun, and have the chance to test our aim.
You’ll have time to admire their beautiful handmade crafts created with materials from the surrounding area.
An opportunity to discover not only the rainforest, but also the people who keep its traditions alive.
LUNCH
After lunch…
IT’S TIME TO GO FISHING!
We’ll head out by boat for a fun fishing adventure in the Amazon.
You can try your luck catching:
•    Piranhas
•    Catfish
•    Pacu
•    Sardines
•    Other local fish
You don’t need to be an expert.
All you need is a sense of adventure, a love for the river, and a willingness to have fun!
And if we have the opportunity, we’ll continue searching for river dolphins along the way.
DINNER
After dinner, we’ll have time to relax, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company.

Let’s celebrate together!
And if the group feels like keeping the evening going, we can enjoy some music and dance for a while.
Because a great trip is also about laughing, sharing, and creating wonderful memories.

DAY 4
WILDLIFE, PAICHE & VICTORIA REGIA
BREAKFAST
After breakfast, we’ll get ready for our final adventure before returning to Iquitos.
DISCOVER AMAZONIAN WILDLIFE
We’ll visit an animal rescue and conservation center, where we’ll have the chance to discover different rainforest species.
We may see an impressive anaconda up close, meet a three-toed sloth, discover the fascinating mata mata turtle, and learn about other animals from the region.
A wonderful opportunity to get closer to the incredible wildlife of the Amazon.
LUNCH
After lunch, we’ll begin our journey back to Iquitos.
But before we arrive…
THE GIANT OF THE RIVERS AWAITS!
We’ll visit a paiche fish farm to discover one of the largest freshwater fish in the world.
You’ll have the chance to see these impressive fish up close and feed them.
We’ll also have the opportunity to observe caimans, feed other fish species, and discover one of the Amazon’s most remarkable aquatic plants:
THE VICTORIA REGIA
Its enormous leaves and breathtaking beauty will make this our final great rainforest experience before returning to the city.
BACK TO IQUITOS
We’ll continue our journey to Iquitos and transfer you to the airport.
And that’s where our adventure comes to an end…
But your memories will last forever.

Essential Recommendations for Your Amazon Jungle Trip – Savia Tours, Iquitos

What to Bring:

​

Bring a small backpack and lightweight clothing suitable for the warm and humid jungle climate, such as long pants, shorts, T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, sandals, sneakers or comfortable shoes, a cap or hat, personal toiletries, swimwear, and a towel.

If you take any medications, please remember to bring them with you. A yellow fever vaccination is not required for this trip.

Additional items, such as rain ponchos, rubber boots, and flashlights, can be purchased in Iquitos if needed.

Optional Donations

If you wish, you may bring donations for the children of the rural community of San Rafael, along the Amazon River. Donations are completely optional and not mandatory. Items such as books, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, colored pencils, rulers, and other school supplies are greatly appreciated.
